Oxford Harlequins over-ran St Ives in spectacular style, running in 12 tries. Here is the numbers' game. See Tuesday's paper for full report.

Competition: South West 1

Score: Oxford Harlequins 72, St Ives 3

Oxford Harlequins player ratings:

15. Andy Noyce 8 (intelligent display, joined the line well)

14. Tom Johnson 8 (powerful performance from an increasingly influential player)

13. Andy Henley 8 (St Ives couldn't handle his running game)

12. Beau Wilson 9 (STAR MAN, Quins' most creative player)

11. Pete Davies 7 (lively and committed)

10. Mark Preston 8 (highly impressive debut, but poor place kicking)

9. Anthony Cope 7 (his sharp performance deserved a try)

1. Nick Goodger 8 (another to shine on his debut)

2. Dave Needham 6 (lineout throwing a little patchy)

3. Paul DeLange 7 (rock solid as usual)

4. Dave Payne 7 (effective in set play and loose)

5. James Eckert 6 (not a natural second row)

6. Phil Rowe 6 (replaced at half-time)

7. Chris Alcock 8 (took some stopping)

8. Paddy Soper 7 (did little wrong)

Replacements:

16. Ed Mitchell 6 (few chances to impress)

17. Duncan Lynchsmith 7 (made useful impact)

18. Ferdi Gerber 7 (always alert and carried well)

Referee: Mike Cooper 7 - no major quibbles

Entertainment rating: 8.

Highlight: The slick move that led to Pete Davies's try

Lowlight: Mark Preston's dodgy goal kicking.

Fixtures

Next Weekend Oxford Harlequins travel away to Weston-Super-Mare who have shown impressive recent form disposing of Cleve RFC and Maidenhead RFC over the last two weeks. www.westonrfc.co.uk

Quins hope to see the return of Frank Jones who is currently undergoing treatment for his appendix in hospital, our thoughts are with him. If anyone wishes to travel away to Weston next week, places will be available on the players coach at a cost of £5 (contact Matt Maudsley for further details).

Oxford RFC should get things back on track away to Wheatley this weekend, they lost in a dismal affair to a very committed Stow-On-The-Wold team. www.wheatleyrfc.com

Oxford Rugby IIs, who narrowly lost to Redingensians IIs will take on Buckingham IIs at the Southern By-Pass next Saturday.
