Oxford RFC members please come and attend our open meeting to discus the proposals below and to ensure all members of ORFC know what is going on and have a chance to air their views.
ORFC & Oxford Harlequins RFC (referred to as ORFC and OH below) joint venture proposal.
- ORFC and OH retain individual identities for playing purposes.
- The coaching team will provide for both ORFC and OH Senior sides at Hinksey on Tues and Thurs.
- Physiotherapy and medical services, will be available to all playing members of both clubs on training nights at Hinksey, and for OH and ORFC 1st teams on match days.
- OH will play SW1. Oxford players will be permitted to join OH (subject to selection). Players from OH and ORFC may interchange as part of the development squad into Oxford 1st and 2nd and OH 2nd and 3rd. There will also be a joint social side
- OH 1st & 2nd, and Oxford 1st & 2nd will play at Hinksey, OH 3rd & 4th will play at Marston Ferry.
- Player benefits will be determined by the joint committee.
- ORFC and OH will aim to provide equal numbers of volunteers required for agreed events and club/ grounds requirements.
- ORFC will be responsible for the financial management at Hinksey, and OH at Horspath and Marston Ferry. Any surplus trading profits or losses will be pooled with the surplus going to the joint rugby operation to fund the playing budget or facility improvements.
- VP/ player/ social membership fees will be standardised.
- VP & social fees will be retained respective clubs.
- Some International tickets will be pooled for maximum revenue generation.
- Sponsorship and advertising revenue will fund the playing budget.
- Allocation of revenue, for projects (both capital and revenue) will be by the joint committee.
- Mini’s and juniors are maintained by respective clubs at Hinksey and Marston Ferry.
- Junior under 18’s and Colts from both clubs will be jointly coached and form the new Youth Academy
- Assets and liabilities of each club will initially remain with each club
- OH & ORFC joint committee will work together through the 2006/7 season with a view to forming a legal partnership for the new venture, whilst retaining separate clubs for playing purposes.
