Oxford Rugby Club opens fourth full-sized pitch
29 Jan 2007
Oxford Rugby Club has opened a fourth, full-sized pitch to increase capacity at its twenty six acre site near the southern bypass. Pitch Four, in line with the club’s first team pitch, will provide more flexibility for junior and senior matches. In future the club will be able to run three simultaneous games on either Saturday or Sunday, whilst allowing one pitch time to recover.
Since the start of this season Oxford Harlequins have been playing league fixtures at the Oxford Rugby Club site, under the new City of Oxford Rugby Partnership initiative. This has stretched capacity to the limit and the new pitch is designed to ensure that players at all levels have access to excellent facilities. The club is grateful for Blue Boar RFC, who kindly donated the cost of a new set of posts for the fourth pitch .
